About Me

Usually these include some sort of list of “things that I like,” which I have never been great at. I like what everybody likes; music, coffee, reading, jogging, sleeping, and though I have NO way of knowing until I turn 21 in a few weeks…………...probably beer.

So I won’t spend too much text on that part.

I am a rising junior at North Carolina State University in the College of Textiles.  I study Fashion & Textile Management with a concentration in Brand Management and Marketing. It was a path chosen after a heartbreaking realization that FIT out of my league financially, and probably emotionally too. Durham, NC is my home, and Raleigh is my other, slightly bigger home. I love them both for distinctly different reasons and will defend the honor of both cities whenever need be.

I’ve been obsessed with fashion since high school. I wanted everyone to know and understand why it was important, why it’s more than a superficial cash cow of commercialism, and what it can do for absolutely everybody.  I am particularly interested in small business and styling; nothing makes me happier than the perfect harmonious outfit, styled by people who really, really care. It’s art and it’s for everybody.

These days I'm spending my time being a college student and working as a sales associate at Fifi's consignment where I spend half my check and occasionally get to play around with ootds for the 'gram (my favorite!!). Additionally I work as an intern at Raleigh's the Art of Style, truly one of the coolest and most unique, soho-style boutiques in the triangle - there will be no shortage of posts about em.

I’ve been lucky to know several people who have helped me create my own understanding of fashion, high-end and commercial alike, and build a professional identity in the industry. As I progress through my twenties, I hope to grow in a way that make the people I share my life with appreciate the art of fashion and get the same joy from it that I do.

xx,

Jess
